Yannis Legakis is the Principal at Laconic Risk Solutions – surety bonding agency serving New York, New Jersey and Connecticut construction industries. For the past two decades he’s built his expertise as construction focused surety and insurance expert. During that time he spent a few years as Controller of a bridge painting contractor, giving him valuable experience and perspective on the client side. For the past six years and prior to launching Laconic, he was a bonding partner in a NYC agency. Mr. Legakis has authored several nationally published articles in the field of contractor fringe accounting. He holds a Bachelor in Health Policy Administration from Penn State University.

This combined experience has given him some great perspective from both sides, contractor and agent, which he shares on his blog, Mr. Surety Bond.  One of his most recent successes includes increasing one of his client’s bonding capacities from 1 to 10 million within a year.  While these explosive results are not common, it is possible with the right presentation, knowledge, and relationships.
